Jud Byrd Pronounced Honorary Member


At the May 12, 2011 Michael Late Benedum Chapter (MLBC) meeting in Oglebay Park, Wheeling, WV the MLBC recognized the decades of work, service and dedication that Jud Byrd has provided to the MLBC by pronouncing Jud Byrd an honorary member of the MLBC and by presenting Jud with a plaque declaring the appreciation of the MLBC for Jud’s decades long service to the Benedum Chapter.

Jud Byrd became a member of the MLBC in 1980 after starting his career as a Landman in 1977 with the small independent producing company, Stocker & Sitler Oil Company, in Newark, Ohio. Jud has served the MLBC by holding every official position in the MLBC, including President and Regional Director. Jud has also served on and been Chairman of several Committees in the MLBC. Jud’s service and experience is one of the big reasons why the 51 year old MLBC has been so successful at continually serving the needs of Landmen in the Appalachian Basin.

Jud is a married to his wife of 35 years, Suzanna, and is the father of three boys. Jud’s son, Justin, is a Landman and Jud’s brother, Brad Byrd, is a CPL Landman. Jud is a Business Administration graduate of The Ohio State University class of 1975. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving overseas in 1972-1974. He excels at golf, fishing and sporting clays. He has been a Land Manager at Stocker & Sitler Oil Company, CGAS Exploration, Inc. and EnerVest Operating, L.L.C. and is currently the President of Flint Ridge Energy, Ltd. in Newark, Ohio.
